Reviews – A1-YO – Meth Muzik

Some brand new shit comin’ outta central Texas from A1-YO called Meth Muzik. For our regular listeners you might remember A1-YO from Episode 279 of the Murder Master Music Show back in 2016. He recently sent me this new EP Meth Muzik and it’s definitely some A-1 shit, some mob music about gettin’ paid and keepin’ it authentic!

The beats remind me of some Sac-Town Mob shit from Sam Bostic and Mike Mosley. It gives you that feel that is not like anything from this new age era which is dope as f-ck! The production on here was done by Kmakehitz, and Jay G.P. bangz. They brought that sound to match what A1 was saying perfectly. It all kicks off with Same Thing, then followed by my favorite cut off the project Bust Back.

This is his tenth project and you can tell he is not new to this at all, well rounded, lyrically sharp, and tons of mob tales! He is originally from Oakland so you can tell where he gets that Mob Sound from, but he also has some of that Texas sound in his music. He was successfully able to merge the two regions and rep’em both on this project! He even has a Slowed-N-Chopped version to the song Mob Move. As always with good EPs my only complaint is it leaves you wanting more. I definitely recommend this project and look for some of it to land on In Tha Murder Mix from time to time!
