esham_Dichotomy
Esham’s latest album Dichotomy has brought me back on many levels to when I was younger as it has several elements from earlier projects, most notable being the songs St. Michael and Yesterday. Yesterday takes you right back to 1997’s classic Bruce Wayne Gothom City 1987, where as St. Michael goes back all the way to the Judgement Day era as it is an updated version of the classic Fallen Angel. I was so happy to hear those tracks, I really fuckin’ hope he does more in the future to songs like “Don’t Blame Me”, “Therapy”,”Midnight”, and the list could go on and on. Back to the Dichotomy album, it offers plenty of other dope tracks such as the Filthy Rockwell produced Doustillbelieve which is full of substance and knowledge as he is spitting about the politics of the rap game and even throwing a knock out to Floyd where he says “Never teasing my people with wealth like Mayweather.” Me being strongly against materialism I felt the shit outta that line. My other favorite track on the album is the song Everything Dead featuring Mastamind. This is one of those songs, especially now you can’t help but to feel. They are talking about how the world is, especially in Detroit, full of burnt up homes, losing loved ones like TNT(RIP), and every day struggles. Over all other than maybe a couple tracks that had industry sounding beats, this was a real well put together album. In fact I will go as to far as to say that this is my favorite Esham album since Tongues. I like the subject matter, him revisiting some of the classics, the Mastamind feature and solo track, and the fact that it is 2015 and the man is still making dope music that’s killin’ the bullshit that you see out here today! After reviewing several Esham/NATAS/RLP albums in the old Murder Dog it feels good to be able to do it again, but this time here at www.ugs4life.com
He also recently remastered and re-released the classics “Boomin Words From Hell” and “KKKill The Fetus” both along with other merch can be purchased at acidrap.com
